Car starting motor: working for only 90 minutes a year is crucial
There is a component in the car that, although only working for 90 minutes per year, is an indispensable and crucial part of the vehicle's operation. This lazy guy is the starter motor.
In the early days, starting a car required manpower, but today's household cars no longer require this method because the emergence of a starting motor has replaced this process. Its existence enables the vehicle to start smoothly in a short period of time.
Although the starting motor has a short working time each time, its working intensity is very high. The instantaneous output current can reach 300-400A, far higher than the total household electricity consumption. This high load and short-term work enables the starting motor to complete the engine start in a short period of time.
Despite the high working intensity of the starting motor, its lifespan is still guaranteed. A high-quality starter motor can complete at least 50000 starts. For most household cars, this means that the lifespan of the starter motor matches the normal usage cycle of the vehicle.
The emergence of the start stop system did not prolong the lifespan of the starting motor. In fact, the starting motor of the start stop system belongs to the "reinforced" type, with the usage frequency increased from the ordinary 50000 times to 100000 times or even 300000 times, effectively solving the problems caused by frequent starting.
